The Black Jail and Other Guthrie Haunts, Ep. 659

Posted on October 15, 2026 by History Goes Bump Posted in Haunted Location .

An abandoned and decaying building in Guthrie, Oklahoma has served a number of purposes throughout its history. This started as the Black Jail and then became a place of worship for the Nazarene Church. Then it was a social club before a cult known as the Samaritan Foundation made this their headquarters. And then there was the murder. It’s no wonder that people say the place is haunted. Guthrie has a couple of other haunted locations as well including a train depot, theater and former saloon. Join us for the history and hauntings of the Black Jail and other haunts of Guthrie. This Month in History features the Sweetest Day.
