Awesome content on your podcast! I learned of it from The Big Seance podcast and am now a huge fan. Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much Michelle – we greatly appreciate that!
I enjoyed episode 74 on Gettysburg very much. I read a lot about Gettysburg but very little on the paranormal activity there so that was very enjoyable. General Ewell is pronounced “Yule” Denise you were right lol
Thanks Mike! Denise is thrilled that she was right and I was wrong! We can’t wait to check out Gettysburg.
Your podcast is the perfect way to unwind with a glass of wine in the tub before retiring. The challenges of the day go bump right out of your head
Glad we help things go “bump” out of your head…just beware the dark water…lol!
I found this podcast after it was mentioned on another “spooky” podcast called Bizarre States. I love the blend of history and scary. I also really enjoy that you ladies keep the language of the podcast family friendly so I can recommend it to my students who love spooky history. Keep up the great work!
Thanks for listening Dawn and thank you for recommending us to your students! It means a lot!
Hi Diane and Denise ……you two have a wonderful podcast ,I have listened to all the episodes and can’t wait for the next ….I love the paranormal and I love hearing the history behind the stories and legends.you two have a fabulous way of telling the stories making them interesting and sometimes funny .I listen to many podcasts and yours is on my top 4 favourites.Your banter and sometimes a :bit of track thoughts and ramblings:make your show an all round winning show .love love love it ……you 2 are legends..
Lee from Australia x
Thanks so much Lee! We really appreciate your kind comments and wow!!! legends??!! So we could someday be like the Hook Man or the Jersey Devil or Mothman! Woohoo!!
Hi ladies!
Just wanted to send you a quick thank you for putting out a fantastic podcast! I like your light hearted chit chat and joking around, you keep me laughing. I started listening a couple months ago and am now working my way through the older episodes and always find myself eagerly awaiting your next episode. Keep up the great work! Much love from Toronto, ON!
Thanks Tiana for your kind comments! And thanks for the name pronunciation help. What a cool name! Almost the same as our diva Princess Tiana!
I love to listen to you guys when I am at work and occasionally I find my boss sitting on the other side of the machine listening right along with me. I love that you enjoy the subject so much it comes through on your episodes I am binge listening right now so I am not up to current but I did notice that you have one on Myrtles Plantation. I visited and stayed the night there two years ago and can’t wait until I get to that one. Love the podcast and thanks for giving me a little chuckle now and then when I am at work
Thanks so much for your comments Mellisa! We appreciate that you listen to the show and it is our pleasure to bring you a little bit of fun. I bet it was wonderful at the Myrtles! Anything spooky happen?
Yes I was tucked in a couple times, waking up with the blankets tucked around me and woke up with someone tugging on my toe. I did get several weird pictures and yeah I would do it a hundred times over it was so nice there
Love your pod cast so funny and informative really relaxing after a hard day thanks you guys keep up the great work!!!
Thanks for your kind comments Michelle and for listening to the show!
It’s Heather again with another Krampus tale! So at Christmas we were sitting with Oma (my step-grandmother who is an immigrant from the Germany/Austria border area) and I told her about my grandmother’s story of Krampus. She’s like OH! Krampus! Krampus used to come to our village in chains and bang on the doors! My sister Annabelle would hide behind the couch! OMG! OMG! I be good I be good and she literally piss herself! All the while, Krampus is banging his chains on the doors going “OH, you’ve been bad girls!” And she’s laughing the whole time. Turns out it was my great-great grandfather that would dress as Krampus and would chase the kids with the whip all the way down to the river. The type of Krampus you experience can tell you a lot about where your Germanic ancestors lived in the old world, I suppose.
I’m late to the party because I just found you guys (I’m on FB with the spook crew)! I love your podcast. I did find something interesting to add (but not at all in a snotty I know it all kind of way )! On the episode about Biltmore estate, you guys (I think) mentioned that the Vanderbilts lost all of their fortune. Actually, what I’ve found is that Gloria Vanderbilt did have her inheritance. A large one at that. I believe her mother did a bit of squandering while she was in charge of it and when G.V came of age she cut her mother out and gave the amount that had been going to her mother to some charity for children. She had even been removed from her mothers custody is a HUGE custody battle (Whitney vs Vanderbilt I think)She also had some financial misfortune because she had a lawyer who cheated her. Anyways, I thought it was very interesting because she is a successful artist AND designer.
We had no idea about the life of Gloria Vanderbilt – wow! Even more impressed with her becoming successful after all that. She was kind of like those celebrity kids who have to kick their parents to the curb for squandering their money. Thanks Michelle! We’ll share this on the next episode!
YES! She is quite a lady! I’m thinking this may be one of the reasons she has made it clear to her son Anderson Cooper that there is “no inheritance”….I’ve read some interesting comments from him regarding this as well….he said he thought maybe he would have been less motivated had he known/thought he had a pile of money waiting for him when he came of age….either way….gave me a lot of respect for her because she’s not just a “spoiled rich kid”
In addition (I know I’m obsessed with your podcast….but) since I haven’t caught up with all of your episodes you might have already done a podcast on the Whaley House (in San Diego where I may or may not have had an experience) OR the Winchester Mystery House in northern CA. Moth are supposed to be haunted. I’m also wondering about Hearst Castle in CA…I’ve been but I don’t know if it has any spooks!
I briefly looked into Hearst Castle and while there was a weird death in a car outside of it, I couldn’t find anything “haunted.” But it should be, shouldn’t it? I’ve added the Whaley House to the list. The Winchester Mystery House has been requested several times because we don’t have it in the title of the podcast that it is part of, but the Mysterious Podcast, which is episode 8 covers it.
I’m sorry I missed the Winchester Mystery House episode (just not enough hours in the day so I haven’t caught up). Yes Hearst Castle should be Haunted . I’m sorry to bombard you guys! I live all things haunted and historical too so I brainstorm a lot! I’m a stay home mom and I adore it but seems like my brain needs stimulation! Keep up the great work!
We decided today to give the Winchester it’s own episode that us more expanded. Watch for it in February 2016.
I listen to your podcast at work…at night, the only one in the office, and the only light on is the one directly over my desk. ambience is everything.
I really enjoy the history and topics and am impeessed with the research you both do for each podcast.
I would like to suggest a location, if i could. I have gone on vacation to Folly Beach, SC a few times and find the history of the area interesting. It has something for everyone: pirates who used the island frequently. The island used to be known as Coffin Island because the slave ships used to unload and leave sick and dead slaves there so when they pulled into Charleston Harbor the citizens wouldnt be upset by seeing that. There was a whole murder thing in, I think the ’70s, where this guy killed a few young teenage girls. There is also a lot of Civil War and Revolutionary War history related to the island, too.
Please keep up the good work.
Thanks for listening! We’ll add it to the list. And just ignore those creaks behind you. Hehehe
Headphones! that way if there are any spirits dancing around my desk, i dont hear them. 🙂
I was listening to another of your podcasts on the way home from work today and was thinking. Am i remembering right, that you guys are fans of edgar allen poe and you are planning a trip to charleston, sc? If so, near there is sullivans island, which has fort moultrie, where poe served in the military. Not far from the fort, maybe a few miles, is poe tavern, a little hole in the wall place where everything is somehow related to edgar allen poe. Pretty cool.
By the way, dont listen to those complaining about the noise quality. I am hearing impaired and there are some podcasts out there where some people are really quiet and others are really loud and some podcasts where people mumble so bad they sound like the adults in the charlie brown cartoons. I have NEVER had a problem with your podcasts.
Thank you Dee! Some people are spoiled and expect every podcast out there to have studio quality recording. I’m picky abd know there can be improvements, but I think our content makes up for it. And yes on both! Love Poe and planning on at least 2 days in Charleston. Thanks for the info! I’m excited to check them out!
I have been listening to your podcast since October. At first I thought there was too much chatter, but as I started listening from episode 1 to 99, I started to enjoy the opinions exchanged between you two. I feel as though we are close friends. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Regina! We appreciate that you gave us a chance. Thanks for listening!
I enjoy your podcast, especially the serious consideration given to the real history of the places you talk about. Too many historical ghost story outfits pass on legend as fact. I’m looking forward to listening to your Franklin podcast, as I had a strange experience myself on the grounds where the Battle of Nashville was fought, although I wasn’t aware of that at the time. I woke in the middle of the night to see a Confederate soldier walking past my bed and noticed that his feet were somewhere beneath the floor. I told myself I was dreaming and went back to sleep.
One note, I may be duplicating what someone else said (or I may have missed it, and I’m a couple of episodes behind), but on the Glamis episode I didn’t hear you mention what I, an English teacher, think of first when I hear the name–it was the setting for Macbeth!
Thanks again.
I just found your show transcripts on the blog and saw you did mention Macbeth. It’s easy to miss bits when you’re driving.
Thanks.
Not a problem Marc. I couldn’t remember if I said it or not – lol! Thanks for listening – we greatly appreciate it! I’m going to share your story with the listeners!
Love the ‘Cast…. Catching up with older eps… Love from UK…..
Thanks Steven!
Love your show. I was told of you guys by Chobot at bezzar states. Love the show. Here you guys at work and on the way home. LOVE IT!!
Thanks so much for listening Julian! We appreciate that!
I have always been intrigued with the paranormal. I was searching by podcasts that cover hauntings. I found ‘History Goes Bump.’ I love it Grear show. I love the historical information that is presented as well as the paranormal encounters that have occurred.
Thanks so much Dean!
Was surprised to hear my 4 star review read out on episode 100. I’ve updated to 5 stars with description. Thanks for the hard work you both put into the podcast. It’s appreciated!
My mom has lived on Folly Beach for many years. She hasn’t seen a ghost yet. But, we can hope for future sightings! & you pronounced it correctly. 😉
Aww, thanks for the updated review! We appreciate that as well as your listenership! Glad we got the pronunciation right on Folly Beach! And wouldn’t it be amazing to see Blackbeard’s ghost with the smoking head and all!
I love your podcast. I also love how you respond to everyone. I also got a personal welcome on the Facebook page from Diane. I felt like you actually cared and appreciated that I joined your group. I have never gotten that from any other Facebook page.
Without you guys, we’re talking to ourselves. We love our community. Every one is welcome and important. Glad you found us!
Hi guys! I have a degree in history and have not been able to put it to good use. If you guys need an extra hand in research let me know.
We’ll send you an email! Thanks Richard!
I enjoy your podcast. Very interesting. However, I’m sorta bummed by how much of the overall time is actually devoted to commercials, promos and other information.
Glad you enjoy the show Keith! As for your comments on commercials, we pride ourself on bring ad free. The only promos we run are short bumpers from other podcasts about us or the one we run about the network we are part of. I can assure you that our community of listeners enjoys the fact that we make them part of the show. Makes us unique in a world of podcasts that either run endless ads or completely ignore listeners like you Keith. Our description for the show is clear about what the podcast features. And we’re proud of every bit of it. So don’t be bummed and join our amazing community and be treated in a way that you won’t readily find with other podcasts! Thanks for your comments!
Hello, Ladies!!
I found you in February of this year and you have made my work days so enjoyable! I am a merchandise planner so I sit and run queries and work in spreadsheets all day! You ladies keep me from analysis paralysis – seriously! I’m actually able to be more focused on what I’m doing while listening to these great stories.
You two crack me up with your banter and your love for what you do comes across in every episode. Thank you so much for bringing your show to the world. I share it with everyone!
Hey Andy! You rock! Thanks for finding us and sharing the show! But especially, thanks for your kind comments! Now get back to work – lol! -Diane
I just recently found the podcast surfing through iTunes while at work and I can not stop listening.
Thank you both so much for making my work day more enjoyable! I love it!
Being a Kentucky native, I was wondering if you’ve done any podcast on our famous Waverly Hills or Bobby Mackey’s?
Thanks for listening Elizabeth and your kind comments. We had mentioned Waverly on our Louisville Road Trip podcast but not an entire episode. We will eventually give it a full treatment. I’ll add Bobby Mackey’s to the list. Thanks! -Diane
Hi, I just found you, and started with podcast number one 🙂 You were saying
how all of the houses look the same. And, yes, thank you! My thoughts exactly!
I keep thinking of a song from The Monkees, “Pleasant Valley Sunday” one of their
lines is “Rows of houses that are all the same;and, no one seems to care.”
They must have had a vision, because that was written in their time.
I do wish I can take a tour with you, there are places were I live I can tell you
about, I’m still researching some other places of my personal information…
If interested, let me know.
KK
ps….I found you through Jim Harold’s podcast, Campfire Stories. He’s always
supporting other podcasters on his show.
Thanks so much for listening KK! We appreciate that! We’d love to hear your suggestions on locations and it really makes it so much better when we have personal touches from the listeners via their stories, pictures and research. I love Campfire Stories! I’ve been meaning to contact Jim to share a couple of experiences with him on the show. Keep it spooky! -Diane
I recently found this podcast and I love the content! I will admit that I almost gave up on it after the first couple episodes, but I stuck it out because of the interesting topics. You ladies have improved by leaps and bounds and I am only about halfway through the archives. Can’t wait to see how much better it gets!
P.S. Wilmington, NC has a great group that does ghost tours downtown and I would love to hear about some of their locations on an episode!
Thanks for not giving up Bethany! We appreciate you listening! We will check out that group in Wilmington. Perhaps we can go on a ghost tour with them when we are there in September!
I highly recommend it! And I would be happy to join you for a ghost tour!
I’ve been listening and enjoying the show for a full year now and have yet to write a review or comment, so here goes: I absolutely LOVE the show! We listen to it in the car, in the mornings getting ready for work, and on our back patio in the evenings. The hosts are positivley fetching and outgoing, always making us laugh along with them! Thank you for the spooks; we hope to hear more and more.
Thanks so much Atticus! We still remember your chilling story from last Halloween – so great! Glad you guys are still listening and enjoying the show! We greatly appreciate that!
I am, once again, at work on 3rd shift, with all the lights out except the one over my desk, working and listening to your wonderful podcast. And I would like to make a suggestion, if you haven’t done a podcast on it.
I happened to stumble across a historical fiction book featuring a location called Pendle Hill, which is in Lancashire, England. This had some pretty well known women who were accused and tried as witches.
I haven’t had much time to look into this location, and after about 10 minutes of research I have not found any references to hauntings, but if there are, I’m sure you ladies would find it.
Thanks so much for your podcast. My interest in history enjoys that side of the podcast, and the hauntings appeal to my “little kid who loves a good ghost story” side.
Keep up the good work.
Thanks for the suggestion Dee! I love that you listen in dim lighting on third shift and we will creep up on you once again! LOL! We have heard of the Pendle Witches. A good friend of mine lives in the UK and told me about the story several years ago. We have a show on the calendar in October about witches in America. If we can’t find any hauntings, we’ll give the Pendle Witches a mention as an example in the UK. Thanks for your continued listening!
Love your podcast. I’ve been listening for a couple of years now and it makes the long drives I often have to make a lot more bearable. If I get to my destination before the end of your show I even find myself going around the block a few times just to hear the end!
We better send you gas money! Thanks for listening Justin! We appreciate that and are glad to be along for your drives!
Hi Ladies: Great show! Wondering if the Omni Parker House in Boston has been suggested? Lots of strange history with that location. Ho Chi Minh used to work there…..former favorite hotel of Charles Dickens when he came to Boston. Spirits are known to walk the halls in 19th c attire. There have been known issues with the elevator not stopping on the 3rd floor. Many more!
Hey Laura! That has not been suggested, so we have added it to the list! Thanks for listening and the suggestion!!
When you were talking about the Gloomy Monday song, what was the name of the symphony that would end the world if all five pieces was played. Don’t wore I am just curious and I am not trying to tempt Fate/God/whatever.
Sure you aren’t Chris! LOL! It is “Mysterium” by Alexander Scriabin. Thanks for listening!!
Hi Diane and Denise!
Your show is awesome, I learn so much every week and your emphasis on the paranormal makes he show great!
My family and I are heading to Orlando next week, any advice on picking a good spot for ghost hunting?
Thanks for listening Ron! We did this one and enjoyed it. There’s even a little ghost hunting involved. We would normally encourage you to drive the 2 hours to St. Augustine because it is just magical to us, but the hurricane messed it up pretty bad and probably won’t be good for touring until after October. http://www.americanghostadventures.com/
I don’t know if this will count as an international review, but I’m currently deployed to Afghanistan and wanted to drop you a line to let you both know how much I’m enjoying your podcast. You’ve given me a great list of spooky and interesting places to visit when I return to the States and made these long hours away from my family go by a little faster. Thank you and I look forward to more stories in the future!
And my thanks to The Most Notorious! podcast and Diane’s appearance on it in October for turning me in to your show. I think it’s wonderful how supportive the podcast community is towards each other.
This absolutely counts as an international review BJ! Thank you with all our hearts for your service, especially being deployed in Afghanistan. My cousin was in Iraq a few years ago. You service members just amaze us. Be safe out there and you are in our prayers!
Hi Ladies,
Love your podcasts; just wish the podcasts were longer! Keep up the good work!
Thanks for listening Frank and for posting! We appreciate that!
I left a review on iTunes not very long ago. I think you do a great job, so many critics. I wonder if they could do any better? I only have one problem. I know you both have jobs and your time for the podcast is limited. I usually listen to Beyond the Darkness with Dave Schrader & Tim Dennis then tune to your podcasts on Tune In radio on my Kindle. I don’t quite remember how I learned of your show but I’m glad I did.
Millie
Thanks Millie! Glad to have you listening! We’ve been working on making the episodes longer and eventually we want to produce more content, but yeah…that jobs thing – lol! We appreciate your comments and your review! Keep it spooky!
My bad, I didn’t tell you what my only problem is but I suppose you guessed that your show is just not long enough.
I’ve been listening to your podcast for about a month or so now. And I LOVE it! Diane and Denise are a great team (yes, I know you’re married), and every episode has been incredibly enjoyable. As a lover of horror movies and spooky TV shows, this podcast is right up my alley. And, thanks to listening to Shakespeare and Ghosts, I’ve discovered another podcast right in my own backyard: Twisted Philly! I grew up in Philly, and now live in Delaware. Can’t wait to give it a listen! Also looking forward to listening to your podcast Philadelphia City Hall. You take care now! <3
Thanks so much for listening Margie! We hope you enjoyed the Philly show. We had a lot of fun with Deana. Keep it spooky!
Hi ladies! Love the show and just signed up to donate $5 a month through paypal, in order to access the bonus content. Trouble is, I’m not sure where to find it now! Any help?
Thanks for becoming an Executive Producer Juli! And for listening!
California here . I got very ill this winter, five onths of bed and trying to stay alive. Your pod cast helped me through this battle. Im not out of the woods but not bored to death because of you two.
I live in a haunted house and Many of my guests have had the honor of meeting them. They are sweet and playful but still the newby is terrified. Its all fun and games until someone see’s a ghost.
Hey Marta! So glad we helped you get through a rough patch and we pray for your continued recovery until you reach good health again! Thanks for listening and becoming an Executive Producer! We really appreciate that! Keep it spooky! -Diane
Love your show! my sister told me about you guys and so I just started listening from the beginning on my app, Castbox. you two are so funny!
Thank your sister for us! Glad to have you listening and thanks for your kind comments! Keep it spooky!
Hi, I have been listing to your podcast for a while now. I started with episode 1, I have made to around 93. I have a very boring job lol podcasts have saved me from insanity. Anywho how, I am interested in the paranormal, psychic, occult, scifi etc…. So in the episode on the Magnolia hotel you asked why they would be attracted back to the place, I was thinking, with all the shamans out there, if this is a fragment of a soul that they call back when doing soul retrievals? A moment in a persons life that has become stuck there , either happy or traumatic.
Thanks for listening Sherry! Glad we make the job easier! That is a really good theory you have there. Thanks for sharing! -Diane
I love listing to you guys!
And we love having you listen Becca!
Hey guys! I love your show! I’d love to hear an episode about the St. James Hotel in Cimarron, New Mexico. It’s a favorite childhood spot of mine and it’s very spooky!
Thanks for all you do!
Hey Julie! Thanks for listening and your kind comments. You are in luck! We featured your request on Ep. 150: http://historygoesbump.com/st-james-hotel-ep-150/
Hi ladies, I just signed up for the monthly recurring donation through my husband’s PayPal account. How can I access the extra shows? I’m very excited to have signed up as I absolutely love your podcast!!
Hey Edel! So sorry that I saw this after I emailed the information to Dominick’s account. I will send it to you as well! Thanks for becoming an Executive Producer!
Love the podcast, I started from the first episode and I’m working my way through I’m on episode 82 right now. While I love hearing stories from different states especially the stories from Massachusetts since my paternal grandmother’s family is from Massachusetts I’d love it if you guys could do one from my hometown of Altoona, Pa called Baker Mansion. I’ve heard people cover it on youtube and they always seem to get story about the wedding dress wrong. We have other places that are supposedly haunted but Baker Mansion has the most stories that I can think of. I can even send you more information since the website doesn’t really talk about the family since it’s the site of our historical society now and they do tours of the mansion and they cover everything about the family on the tour and there is a historical sign giving a small bit of information on it. But if you ask anyone from Altoona they can almost tell you the whole story word for word.
Thanks for listening Tiffany! We will add this to the list! We would love your help with the research and if you like, we would be honored to have you join us for the episode.
I’ll start on the research right away. I’ll also have to get a Skype set up so that I can join you guys for the episode, I’ve never used it before so if something goes wrong it might be me and not you guys.
I love the podcast on haunted cemetery
Thank you Ashley!!
I just found this podcast and in two days ive listened to the first 20 episodes….finally a podcast as dark and odd as i am lol…..love what ive heard so far looking forward to listening to even more episodes. I will get caught up in no time. GREAT JOB
Thanks for listening Elio! We appreciate that!
Sim up to episode 62 and loving this podcast. I’ve looked this stuff up on Wikipedia that will be my reading material lol….but listening to the shows and actually seeing photos what a difference, I’ve looked some of these places up on google maps and I have to say Villisca Axe Murders House is by far the creepiest place I’ve come across so far
So glad you are continuing to enjoy the podcast Elio! And thanks for joining us in the Spooktacular Crew!
You two lady’s due a bang up jop. In a big history buff and paranormal fan. I’m also a sensitive. I’ve had experiences Sence I was a child. Greeting from the Pacific Northwest !!!
Found your show about a month ago and I love it. Couple of places to check out in the Washington State. Port Gamble, WA. It’s an old sawmill, company owned town, founded in 1853. Once a booming little town is down to just a few remaining original building. The most impressive is the Victorian style “Walker-Ames” house. the house has two spirits that I know of, one friendly and one not. The town has quite a few ghost. Every year they have a paranormal event in Oct. Check out the website http://www.portgambleparanormal.com/
Hello Sharon from the Pacific Northwest! Glad to have you listening! We’ll add your suggestions to our list. Thank you and keep it spooky!
Hello from Bath, England.
I love the podcast and the website and a place I think you should look up is Pendle Hill, this is a very creepy place and has a story about the pendle hill witches.
Would be a good one for the podcast.
Thanks so much for listening Michelle! We have added Pendle Hill to the list. I had a friend from London tell me about the Pendle Witches years ago and it’s always been an interesting piece of lore to me. -Diane
I just want to say how much I enjoy listening to the podcasts. I just recently found you and listen all day at work. Thank you for the truths and entertainment.
Thank you, Vanessa, for letting us know how much you are enjoying the podcast! We really appreciate that!
You are the best combination of history and spooky! Thank you so much!
Thank you!
I recently just found your podcast, and am loving it!! Especially since I have a few years worth to listen to – it’s binge listening at it’s best! I love ghost tours and walks as well as historical tours, so this podcast is just perfect. Keep up the good work ladies. You are awesome!
So glad you found us Rachel! We love ghost tours for sure! Thank you for your kind comments and for listening!
Hi Denise and Diane, I recently got recommend by your friends over at Astonishing Legends. Growing up in my childhood home, I had some creepy haunting experiences. I am now fascinated with the paranormal. Your stories are so interesting and you both draw a picture of the discription your portraying. I really enjoy your podcast!
Thank you Ladies
Hey Jessica! So glad the guys at Astonishing Legends helped you find us. We’d love to hear your stories. We share listener stories on our Halloween Special. Thanks for your kind comments and for listening!
Hello ladies,
I’ve been listening to you’re show for about 10 months now. Although I am a huge skeptic of ghosts, there is always a fascination of the unknown and how these factors play into the unknown. Your approach to the history of each site and the amount of research you two put into each program has to be admired
Have you ever done a program on the wealthy Toronto theater owner Ambrose Small, and the Grand Theater he owned in London Ontario? If not, I think it’s well worth looking into and maybe doing a show on the subject for your listeners. In case you haven’t, Ambrose small disappeared in December 1912, I believe. His body was never found and the case of his disappearance has never been solved. I believe the story goes that on the day of his disappearance, hs ghost was seen in the Grand theater in London. Several strange occourances have o leagued the theater since then, and his ghostly figure has been seen sitting in his private box at erformances. It is said he never misses an opening night. It’s an absolutely fascinating story, and if you haven’t done a story on this, you ladies would certainly do it justice.
Thanks for listening Steve! We have not done the Grand Theater in Ontario and you have me intrigued with the story about the owner! We will definitely add this to the list! Thanks for listening and keep it spooky!
Hello Ladies!!
I’ve been listening to the show for about a year now and I was hooked with the first listen. I’m an old spirt at heart and have been told that I carry an spirt of an old lady with me. With that being said I have always loved history and have my whole life. I’ve had encounters with the paranormal world and supernatural for as long as I can remember. And now that I have two small children I noticed my eldest is experiencing the same.
Your show really helps connect me with other that feel the same as us. Also glad to know I’m not alone in this wacky spooky world. Thanks for all the fun times and keep it up.
Ps. My son loves your show! When we get in the car he ask for the “ghost bumps show”. So thanks for keeping it clean and friendly for my 4 yr old.
We are definitely kindred “spirits” Valerie! And I love that your son enjoys the ghost bumps show! That’s wonderful! Interesting that you seem to have an attached spirit. Would love to hear your stories! Keep it spooky!
Diane you’re doing a great job! Please keep it going, you have so many fans that appreciate all the hard work you put in to the show. Greetings from Abu Dhabi 🙂
Thank you Edel!!
As regards to your podcast back in 2016 regarding Norwich state hospital. Its closed due to the buildings in poor condition as well as people taking the copper wiring and most of the building are indeed gone. I have lived in Norwich my whole life. Sorry for the very late reply to your answer.
Thank you Trina!
Hi!
Been listening to the show for 3 months now and I’ve been hooked ever since. I can relate to some of the haunting stories, specially about haunted dolls. Hope to be able to catch up to the current episodes. More power!
So glad to have you listening Monica!! Keep it spooky!
This is such an educational and enlightening show. You ladies do a great job. I found this on Spotify and binge the episodes all the time. I’ve been to several of these locations and agree with you; I’m sceptical until proven otherwise. Keep up the great work!! Amazing podcast!!
Thanks so much Casey! Glad that you found the podcast and are enjoying it! And thanks for joining us in the Spooktacular Crew!
Just stumbled on your podcast, absolutely love it! Would love to share some of the local stories from here in Australia! One in particular that I’ve had frightening experiences with. But I have another hitchhiking ghost story too that adds the driver offers their jacket to who they pick up, they disappear, goes to house to find they died, find the grave with their jacket folded on it. Other is too long, can I email it to you?
Thanks Patrick! I would love to hear more! Email me at historygoesbump@gmail.com
Hi I listened to your Deadwood broadcast and have stayed at the Bullock hotel.
One night, Seth touched my wife while asleep around 2 am.
It’s a weird place to visit.

Thanks for sharing Gary! I bet that freaked your wife out pretty good!
I found the podcast a little while ago and have been listening to it everyday at work. I love the combination of history and the ghost stories. My ex and I stayed at the Stanley hotel in Estes Park, and had a few things happen. We are always looking for a good ghost tour when ever we travel.
Thanks so much for listening Tim!!
