Joint Base McGuire–Dix–Lakehurst in Trenton, New Jersey is a very unique military base in that it is the only tri-service base in the United States Department of Defense. All six armed forces branches have units stationed there. The name is derived from the United States Air Force’s McGuire Air Force Base, the United States Army’s Fort Dix and the United States Navy’s Naval Air Engineering Station Lakehurst. This location was the scene of the horrific crash of the Hindenburg in the 1930s. Several buildings on the base are said to be haunted. Join us as we explore the history and hauntings of the place most commonly known as Fort Dix! Stick around until the end of the podcast to hear about the Doctor to the Dead of Charleston! The Moment in Oddity features the Montenegro Tree Fountain and This Month in History features the premiere of Playboy Magazine. Our location was suggested by listener Samantha Napier.

Cleveland sits on the opposite side of Lake Erie from Canada. While this proximity is not worrisome to us today, there was a time when Cleveland was worried that Canadians might invade their city. They needed a military group for protection and so they formed one. This group eventually was known as the Cleveland Grays and they built an armory that is today a museum. A haunted one apparently. Join us as we explore the history and hauntings of Cleveland Grays Armory! The Moment in Oddity features Roland the Farter and This Month in History was suggested by Chelsea Flowers and features the invention of Liquid Paper.

Fort Lauderdale means fun in the sun at a beach for most people. But this oceanside town has another side. There are many haunted locations here and for good reason. The Seminoles fought with settlers, the titans of industry made this their playground and this is the Venice of America with 165 miles of scenic inland waterways. Water is a key conduit for paranormal activity. In October, we met up with our listeners Amanda and Charlotte and had some dinner and then headed off for a ghost tour. Join us as we share the history and hauntings of Fort Lauderdale! The Moment in Oddity features Stoneman Willie and This Month in History features the debut of Days of Our Lives.

Stagecoach stops have a knack for being haunted. This isn’t surprising due to the amount of activity that these locations experienced throughout history. The stagecoach was the best form of transportation across land before the railroad stretched across America. The Old Stagecoach Inn in Vermont served as a stagecoach stop as well as a tavern. Eventually, the building became a private residence and a former owner named Margaret Spencer might still be here in the afterlife. Join us as we explore the history and hauntings of the Old Stagecoach Inn! The Moment in Oddity features Cannibalistic Funerals and This Month in History features the first patented bra.
